LESSON STUDY

Lesson study is an effort organized a capacity building of teachers in problem-based learning by researching and reflecting on systematically teaching-learning process. Objectives of Lesson Study is to improve the service of the teacher to student learning needs. The core Lesson Study is doing the same work by the teacher and the teacher or teachers and professors to observing, examine and reflect on the implementation of problem-based learning. Steps in Lesson Study is preparing a lesson plan (getting started), realization (a teacher conduct learning and other teachers doing real observations, while others conduct observation), reflection and improvement I, and reflection and improvement II.
Lesson Study carried out for the innovating education through improved implementation of problem-based learning. Innovations through lesson study can be fulfilled if the teacher is open, the high teacher's commitment, the development of infra-system support, etc. Because of the lesson study done through the improvement of problem-based learning, lesson study, activities centered on students and tailored to the capabilities of the school. Therefore, lesson study supports school-based competence. Relevant paradigms include student centered, constructivist, realistics Mathematics and contextual teaching learning
Until now, the lesson study continue to be developed and socialized. Socializing is done through a variety of ways, including through publications, the involvement of stake holder, lesson study open house, school or fidelity, service, commitment and cooperation with University.
